A Tuesday night friendly round up

Many of our clubs were in action last night. Here’s how they did- to the best of our knowledge!

 

Trying to report on pre-season is never an exact science, but here’s what we think happened last night. 

 

Ascot United defeated Holyport by the only goal of the game, whilst Redbridge went down four-nil at Aveley. Badshot Lea defeated Chertsey Town by four goals to one, and Hendon travelled to Beaconsfield Town and won three-two.

 

Billericay Town fell to late defeat against Chelmsford City, losing two-one, an early goal from Davis for the Blues, whilst in the Thameside Trophy Quarter Final Bowers & Pitsea and Tilbury played out a goalless draw, before penalty shootout specialists Bowers triumphed five-three from the spot.

 

Bracknell Town defeated Westfield four-one, whilst Canvey Island lost two-one against Southend United, Conor Hubble scoring for the Gulls. 

 

Carshalton Athletic defeated AFC Whyteleafe by four goals to nil, Vose, Hamilton-Downes and Braithwaite apparently amongst the scorers, whilst Chatham Town defeated a young Coventry City side by three goals to one.O’Keefe, Sach and Liburd scored for the Chats. Chichester City defeated AFC Portchester by five goals to one.

 

Cray Valley PM were defeated five-one by Ebbsfleet United, Anau the Millers scorer, and Deal Town fell four-one against a Gillingham XI. Eastbourne Borough were the victors against Whitehawk, five-two, Harley and Shubbar the scorers for the Hawks. 

 

Faversham Town and Hastings United drew one-one, whilst Felixstowe and Walton United fell two-one against Needham Market, Noel Aitkens scoring for the Seasiders. Fisher played host to Witham Town, and Witham won two-one, whilst Fleetlands were tough opponents for Moneyfields, but the Moneys won three-two, Jeffes amongst the scorers. 

 

Fleet Town were defeated two-one by Hartley Wintney, Bartlett with a late winner and Wylie with the other for the Row, whilst Sporting Bengal Utd had a big win at Glebe, six-one.

 

Hanworth Villa fell five-nil against Aldershot Town, whilst Harrow Borough defeated Broadfields United four-three, Miskin, Williams, Odumosu and Ifil with the goals. Haywards Heath Town defeated Three Bridges three-nil, and Hollands & Blair were two-one winners over Ashford Utd, Lockyer scoring for the Nuts and Bolts. 

 

Lancing fell two-nil against Worthing, Leatherhead and AFC Croydon Athletic drew one-one, whilst Lewes fell two-nil against Crawley Town- image from James Boyes. 

 

Maldon & Tiptree lost three-two against a Colchester Utd U21, and Margate played out a two-two draw against Dartford. Greenhalgh and Bessey-Saldanha scored for Gate, whilst Allen was amongst the scorers for the Darts. 

 

Mildenhall Town and AFC Sudbury played out a goalless draw, and Newmarket Town defeated Cambridge United U18’s three-one, Williams, Mingay and Cole with the goals for the Jockeys. 

 

Petersfield Town welcomed Horndean, the Deans triumphing by four goals to nil. Rayners Lane were three-nil winners against Cheshunt, and Rochester Utd were defeated two-one by Sheppey Utd, scorers unknown.

 

Saffron Walden Town and Basildon United played out a goalless draw, and Sevenoaks Town were three-nil winners against Bexhill United, Eruotor, Bath and Kurti the Oaks scorers. Sittingbourne welcomed Folkestone Invicta, the Stripes winning two-one, Smith with both goals- Brickies scorer unknown. 

 

Southall defeated Harefield four-nil, all of the goals coming from members of the Trialist family, who are rather prolific at this time of year but obviously can’t do it on a cold winters evening as we never see them score unless it’s summer (it is summer, honestly). South Park Reigate welcomed Littlehampton Town, the visiting Golds winning two-one. Pitcher and Layton got the visitors goals. 

 

Steyning Town were three-one winners over Peacehaven & Telscombe, goals from Meehan, Murrain and Goldson for the hosts, whilst Merstham won five-nil at Tooting & Mitcham Utd, Lewis, Henry and Vendrells amongst the scorers. 

 

Uxbridge and Egham Town met at Honeycroft, the hosts triumphing five-three, whilst Herne Bay won three-two at VCD Athletic, Haysman, Kamara and Salako the Bay scorers. Whitstable Town and Dover Athletic drew two-two, Pont amongst the Athletic scorers, whilst Brentwood Town won one-nil at Wingate & Finchley, Hogan the scorer. Woodford Town defeated Walthamstow by the only goal of the game.
