A Managerial departure at Rovers

Sam Morgan leaves Sutton Common Rovers

Sutton Common Rovers have announced that they have accepted the resignation of manager Sam Morgan, who only became sole manager in May, stepping up from his position as co-manager after former boss Darren Salmon stepped up to be General Manager.

Sam joined the club in May 2023, after departing Haywards Heath Town, where he was Assistant to Martin Dynan. Prior to his time at Heath Sam managed Lingfield, and he also has coaching experience with Epsom and Ewell and AFC Croydon.

Sam released a very brief statement on social media, explaining: ‘I’ve taken the decision to step down from my position at Sutton Common Rovers. I wish the club all the best.’

Rovers followed that up yesterday with the following words:

'Following conversations over the past few days the club are now able to confirm that the resignation of our 1st team manager position has been accepted from Sam Morgan.

All at SCR would like to thank Sam and his management team for his and his management teams efforts over the course of the last season and a bit and wish him well wherever his football journey takes him next.

The club will prepare for Saturday's tough visit by Hayes & Yeading United as normal and will look to make further statements in due course.'
