Another action-packed South Central Saturday!
Five of the top six are at home, but leaders Farnham have a seven point lead. Will anyone hunt them down?
Leaders Farnham Town, with a seven point advantage at the top, travel to South London to take on fourth from bottom Sutton Common Rovers. Farnham have won eight of their last ten matches, with only one defeat, whilst their hosts have won only two of their last ten and find themselves two points from safety. Rovers do seem to have finally found their feet at home, however, with only one defeat from their last four at Colston Avenue.
Second place Kingstonian welcome Leatherhead to Raynes Park Vale. The K’s are seven points behind the leaders with a game in hand, and have won three of their last four, whilst the Tanners finally seem to be looking like their old selves despite sitting in twelfth place, only one defeat in seven. Leatherhead are eleven points away from the top five, but have games in hand over all of the sides above them, so will still be certain that they can still get an invite to the end of season party.
Ascot United have taken twenty six points from the last thirty available, are twelve matches unbeaten, and play host to seventh place Hanworth Villa hoping to extend that run and get closer to the leaders. The Yellas are behind the second place K’s only on goal difference, and seven points behind Farnham. The Villains got back to winning ways in midweek and could find themselves back in the top five if they can spoil their hosts Saturday.
Fourth place Uxbridge will be visited by eighth place Raynes Park Vale. The Honeycroft faithful have had much to cheer of late, particularly at home, but Uxbridge lost for only the second time in ten matches in midweek and will want to bounce back from that. Vale have won each of their last three matches by three goals to nil, and are only two points away from fifth place so will not be short of motivation.
Hayes and Yeading United and Rayners Lane meet in a West London derby. United occupy fifth place after a run of only two defeats from ten, whilst Lane are in eleventh, very good at home, but with only one win on the road. The hosts have only two home defeats at home this season- and with only three points between fifth and ninth will very much want to keep winning.
Hartley Wintney have won more home games than any other side in the Division, although they’ve also lost more home matches than anyone in the top five. The one thing they haven’t managed is a home draw, and they’ll want three more points as Harrow Borough make the trip. Borough, without a manager as we write, have slipped to tenth- but with only four points between them and fifth place they won’t have given up on promotion just yet.
Moneyfields are one of our form teams, and they travel to Southall on the back of six successive wins and a climb into the top ten. The Moneys are in ninth place, and indeed within three points of the play off places, whilst The All are eight points further back, and maddeningly inconsistent, winning only three of their last ten and none of their last four.
Westfield have an early kick off against Guernsey- 1PM- and are suggesting that groundhoppers might want to watch their match and they scurry across the road to watch Woking at 3! Field have gone seven games without a win, which has seen them slip to fourteenth; whilst the Green Lions are third from bottom and three points from safety, but have only one defeat from six.
South Park Reigate, two points above the bottom four, have gone five games without a win, losing the first four of those. The Sparks picked up a point in a draw with Rayners Lane last time out, although that was a fortnight ago, since when they’ve been kicking their heels whilst hoping to quickly build on that. They welcome Horndean to Whitehall Lane, the Deans four points better off- and with four games in hand- but having lost their last three whilst conceding sixteen goals.
It’s sixteenth v seventeenth, Binfield v Met Police, four points between them at kick off. The Moles have one win from six and have lost their last two, whilst the boys in blue have also lost their last two but had looked much improved prior to that, defeating Hayes and Yeading and Hanworth Villa comfortably. With only two points between Met and the bottom four, they’ll want to rediscover that form rather quickly.
