Lewis Clark is named new Grays boss

Grays Athletic have named Lewis Clark their new player/manager.

Jordan Clark and Ollie Muldoon will take up the positions of Assistant Player Managers.

In a statement, the club explained:

'Throughout what has been a challenging period for the club following Mitch Hahn's departure, Lewis, Jordan and Ollie have demonstrated exactly the qualities we believe are needed to take the club forward.

We have been hugely impressed by their passion, drive, commitment and communication, together with the ambition and professionalism they have shown during a difficult time for everyone connected with Grays Athletic. Their enthusiasm for the challenge ahead and their desire to help build something positive at the club have been clear from the outset. As we begin this new chapter, we would like to wish Lewis, Jordan and Ollie every success in their respective positions.

Now is the time for everyone connected with Grays Athletic to come together. We ask every supporter, shareholder and member of the Blues family to get behind the new management team, give them your full support and help create the positive atmosphere needed as we move forward together.'

Lewis has been part of the interim management team since the departure of Mitch Hahn. He rejoined the club as a player in May last year, returning to the club from Tilbury, and played thirteen times, scoring twice.

Defender Lewis made forty one appearances with four goals for the Dockers during 24-25. He was previously the skipper at Redbridge during the 23-24 season, playing thirty five times, scoring eight goals, and lifting the Essex Senior Cup as the Motormen saw off Colchester United in the Final.

He moved to Redbridge after departing Athletic.
