Borough narrow the gap, Moneys get a first win, and Hartley hit five

Harrow close to within two points of Farnham, Hartley Wintney climb to sixth, and Moneyfields beat the Tanners

Harrow Borough were hoping to narrow the five point gap between themselves and leaders Farnham Town as Horndean came to call, but they fell behind just before the half hour, Rudi Blankson scoring for the second match in a row- this one a fine free kick. The Deans weren’t allowed to get comfortable, Addison Garnett levelling only seven minutes later, and they were decidedly uncomfortable three minutes into added time at the end of the first half, Leo Sery giving the hosts the lead from the spot after a foul on Dernell Wynter.

Seventeen minutes from time the visitors were level once more, Daniel Sibley with the equaliser, but with only six minutes left on the clock Borough were ahead, Wynter making it three-two, and this time it was a lead they held- closing the gap on Farnham to two points.

Ascot United saw a seven match winning streak come to an end on Saturday, and hoped to get back to winning ways as they travelled to Hartley Wintney, but it was the hosts who broke the deadlock eleven minutes before half time, Tom Drinkwater heading home to score for the second match in a row. After the break the hosts pulled further ahead, two goals from Aderi Dede- on sixty three and sixty six minutes making their lead seemingly unassailable- although Sean McCormack got a goal back for the Yellas with eleven minutes left, giving the travelling fans a glimmer of hope. The hosts charged up the other end and added a fourth, Charlie Postance with it, but the match soon had a sixth goal, United bringing it back to four-two with Liam Tack the latest to get his name on the scoresheet. If there was any doubt about the outcome, Dede ended that, getting his hat trick and his side’s fifth a minute from time. Hartley Wintney climb to sixth.

Moneyfields were still looking for a first League win of the campaign as Leatherhead came to call, and they were given an early boost as the Tanners gave away a penalty, Scott Hills opening the scoring after just three minutes. The visitors drew level on the half hour, Deondre Date’s seventh of the season, but a red card for Sebastian Karczewski with twenty eight minutes remaining saw them down to ten men and gave their hosts a boost. The boost got even bigger five minutes from time, Callum Laycock putting the Moneys ahead, and they held on to celebrate their first Isthmian victory- and move up to sixteenth.
