We would like to place on record our sincerest gratitude towards James and his management team for their efforts since joining the club in 2022. James leaves having delivered promotion back to the Isthmian Premier Division at the first time of asking, as well as securing silverware in the Thameside Trophy. We can confirm that James's backroom team are also departing, and as such we would like to place on record our thanks to Laurence Collins, Steve O'Boyle and Alan Warner.
Bowers U23s Manager Adonye Gogo-Ibiama has been placed in temporary charge to see us through the Festive Period.'
Collins explained:
It is with a heavy heart that today I have handed in my resignation to Bowers & Pitsea Football Club I want to express my gratitude to the club for the opportunity to manage both the Football Club and compete in the Isthmian Premier Division, which I take great pride in We have experienced significant lows as well as remarkable highs together Along the way, I have formed lifelong friendships and met many wonderful people.
The journey has been challenging, yet we have overcome numerous obstacles Regrettably, several factors have influenced my decision Throughout these experiences and others, I have remained loyal to the club. During my tenure, I have endeavored to share my knowledge and support I have prioritized the club over my own professional aspirations since my arrival. Something I have been happy to do, as I have have grown fond of the club, the people, and the supporters. As I depart, the club stands where I found it.
Though it currently sits four points within the relegation zone, with 21 games remaining, I firmly believe that with the right support and guidance, the club has a solid chance of escaping this position.
I joined a club with no players and no backroom staff, we've achieved a lot in a short space of time & I leave a team that I truly believe can fight to remain in the league. This accomplishment fills me with pride and allows me to leave with my head held high, knowing that my passion, dedication, heart, and belief have been unwavering since I first walked in two and a half years ago To the supporters, I recognize the transition was significant following Rob Small's incredible tenure.
However, you welcomed me warmly and supported both the club and me during our toughest moments, celebrating our victories on the brighter days. I will always cherish that! I wish you all the very best for the future! James.'
Prior to his time at Bowers, James was in charge at Faversham Town, Cray Valley PM and Chatham Town.
