Brickies head to Bay- looking to reduce the Rams lead
We’ve only one Pitching In Isthmian South East match tonight- but it could be important for the promotion race
Sittingbourne were giant slayers for a fifth time this season on Saturday, knocking National League South side Enfield Town out of the FA Trophy, but it’s back to the promotion race this evening, the Brickies heading to Herne Bay.
Sittingbourne’s away form isn’t as good as their home form, but it isn’t likely to be given they’ve won every match they’ve played at home. Despite that, they’ve only one league defeat on the road, and head to Bay to play their game in hand over leaders Ramsgate, knowing that victory would see them close the gap to two points. They will be confident, particularly as they defeated Bay four-one at the Staxson Stadium as recently as October 22nd.
Bay have been on a poor run, with only two wins from ten- but that might be a tad misleading. They had won two in a row until they travelled to take on Ashford United on Saturday, and that three-one defeat saw them play for eighty minutes with ten men after keeper Josh Bexon was dismissed early on. They are down in sixteenth place, six points above the drop zone, sixteen away from the top five- but with their squad should surely end the season closer to the top end of the table than the bottom.
The Brickies won both encounters between the sides last season, too.
