Brickies win in Sussex, whilst a late goal sees a seaside derby end level
Sittingbourne return to winning ways, whilst Littlehampton hit back late to draw with Lancing
Burgess Hill Town welcomed Sittingbourne, and would have been confident after a run of four consecutive wins, but the Brickies- amongst the promotion favourites- were quickly ahead, Ryan Kingsford scoring after only nine minutes. Just after the hour, and with home keeper Will Huffer keeping his side in the match, the visitors added a second, Troy Howard with it- and the Brickies are up to fifth.
Littlehampton Town and Lancing met in a Sussex seaside derby, both sides in urgent need of points. The opening goal arrived eight minutes before the break, and it went to the Golds, Dion Jarvis scoring his first for the club since his return from a spell at Chichester City. Soon afterwards the hosts hit the bar as the Lancers lived dangerously, but the visitors hit back with nineteen minutes remaining, Stanley Berry with the equaliser- and ten minutes from time they went ahead, Noel Fisher making it two-one from distance. In the closing stages scorer Berry made sure his night was rather mixed, getting sent off, and of course up stepped Rob O’Toole, keeping his cool to fire home from the spot. Two-two was the final score, the two sides separated only by goal difference.
