Farnham end Borough's run in style
Lane get five, Farnham and Uxbridge four, Ascot three, and Villa, K's and The All also win. Elsewhere, our cup interest ends
Emirates FA Cup
Carshalton Athletic were the hosts for South Park Reigate. The Sparks defeated a giant in the last round- and indeed another set of Robins, Bracknell Town- and are unbeaten in the league, so we thought they’d be a test for Athletic, but the new set of Robins went ahead on seventeen minutes, Tommy Bradford with the opening goal. That turned out to be the only goal, the Robins through to the next round.
Dartford looked to get back to winning ways as South Central side Leatherhead came to call. The Tanners knocked Premier opposition out in the last round- Dulwich Hamlet- so were confident of doing the same again, but the Darts struck early, Callum Jones putting them ahead on six minutes. Darts striker Eddie Dsane used to play for Leatherhead, but he made the Tanners fans miserable when doubling the lead three minutes before half time, and that was how it ended.

Leaders and one hundred percenters Harrow Borough travelled to take on one of the sides tipped to challenge them for promotion, Farnham Town- and it was Town who got the opening goal on the quarter hour, Sam De St Croix with his first goal for the club. On the half hour Farnham added another, Owen Dean making it two-nil, and the game looked as good as won when Dean added a third five minutes before half time. There was certainly no way back when Dean completed his hat trick seven minutes into the second half, and here’s where the scoring ends- Town up to sixth, Borough still top but with their run firmly ended. Horndean lost their one hundred percent record when hit hard by Westfield in midweek, and they hoped to get back to winning ways as they welcomed Hayes & Yeading United. It was United who went ahead, however, Kaylen Hinds opening the scoring just before the break, but the Deans levelled six minutes into the second half, Billy Allcock with the equaliser- and as it turned out, that was that.
Raynes Park Vale travelled to Rayners Lane hoping to get back to winning ways, but they fell behind on fourteen minutes, Makael Scott opening the scoring. Lane added another on thirty one minutes, Callum Webb with that one, and six minutes before half time it was three-nil, Hassan Jalloh the scorer. There was still time for things to get worse for Vale, Tom Barnes dismissed just before the break. The second half saw the hosts add a fourth within six minutes, new signing Dontaye Whittaker scoring on his debut, and they had a fifth a quarter of an hour later, Scott with his second of the afternoon and fourth of the season. Five-nil was the final score, Lane climbing to twelfth.
Hanworth Villa hoped to hold onto their top five spot, whilst visitors Guernsey still looked for a first win. After a first half with no goals it looked as if we’d have a second half with no goals, but five minutes from time one finally arrived, Finlay Macnab’s sixth of the season ensuring victory for the Villains. That’s five games in a row which have seen a Macnab goal, and Villa stay fifth.
Ascot United (pictured) knew they could climb into the top five if they could defeat visitors Met Police, and the Yellas went ahead six minutes before half time, Liam Tack scoring for the third match in a row. On the hour Anas Igozouln scored his fifth of the season-also scoring for the third match in a row- and another from Tack, right at the end, made it three-nil and three points for the hosts- as well as giving them third place in the table.
Kingstonian looked to build on their FA Trophy win last weekend and climb the table as they entertained Hartley Wintney, and they made the breakthrough three minutes from half time, Bradley Wilson with the opening goal. Stan Flaherty made it two-nil with sixteen minutes to go, and Alex MacAllister’s late goal for the visitors wasn’t enough to earn them anything to show for their efforts.
Southall and Binfield were still looking for their first win, but The All got off to a flyer, Brendan Matthew taking only two minutes to break the deadlock. The Moles levelled with twenty four minutes remaining, Rahzir Smith-Jones with the equaliser, but six minutes from time the hosts struck again, Florian Ada with the winner. Southall are fourteenth.
Uxbridge and Badshot Lea each had one point from their opening four matches, so both needed victory at Honeycroft. It was the hosts who made the breakthrough, Ada Okorogheye with his fourth goal of the season, and four minutes into the second half the same player added a second. The game was won when George Moore added a third twenty minutes from time, and a fourth from Andrio Brandao right at the end was the icing on a rather red cake.
