Fifteen unbeaten for the Seasiders- who score four to retain pole position
North goals galore, with Brentwood and the Abbotts leading the way with five, Felixstowe scoring four, and Bury, Regent and City winning with three. Maldon and Stow are also victorious
Felixstowe and Walton United held onto their top spot- and retained their three point lead- with a hammering of relegation-threatened Newmarket Town at the Tristel Global Stadium. The Seasiders were three up by the break, Charlie Warren’s twenty fifth of the season, Cameron Forde-Brown and Thomas Warren with the goals, and if the match wasn’t safe at that point it was certainly secure three minutes after half time, Callum Harrison with a fourth. The closing stages saw skipper Ryan Cole dismissed for the hosts, along with Josh Hitter for United, but that made no difference to the outcome. Town have one only one of ten, and are five points from safety. Image from Stefan Peck.
Bury Town had to come from behind to defeat Concord Rangers, and survive a late scare. Freddie Price put the Beachboys ahead in added time at the end of the first half, but Luke Brown took only two minutes of the second half to level for the hosts, scoring from the spot. Fourteen minutes later Ryan Horne completed the turnaround, and Ollie Canfer’s third twelve minutes from time turned out to be crucial after Amine Sassi pulled it back to three-two in added time. Town remain second, three points behind Felixstowe with a game in hand.
Brentwood Town are third, coming from behind to hammer Redbridge at the Arena. Ayo Odukoya scored for the Motormen after just eight minutes, but then the Blues Mekhi McKenzie took control, firing a hat trick on thirty five, thirty nine and fifty eight minutes. Six minutes later Benas Vaivada made it four, and thirteen minutes from time George Sykes added a fifth. Tendi Quamina brought it back to five-two soon afterwards, but that was as good as it got for the visitors, who slip to thirteenth.
Witham Town slipped to fourth after Brightlingsea Regent made the trip inland and headed back to the coast with all of the points. Charlie Durling put Regent ahead on twenty five minutes, and Teddy Collis soon added a second. Two minutes after the break Liam Whipps halved the arrears but a red card for Witham’s Ryan Dear made their afternoon even more difficult, and it got more difficult still when Durling made it three-one with seventeen minutes from time. A red card for Charlie Collis left both sides with ten men, but Regent had all of the points- and climb to sixth.
Waltham Abbey walloped Sporting Bengal United at Capershotts, leaving the East Londoners without a win in eight matches and making it six wins from seven for the Abbotts, who are fifth. Nathan Koranteng got the opener just before the half hour, and after that Lewwis Spence and Hassan Nalbant traded goals, each of them getting two to seal a five-nil win.
Heybridge Swifts lost on the road for the first time this season as Cambridge City’s climb up the table continued. Swifts went ahead on twenty six minutes, Charlie Stimson the scorer, only for George Smith to level ten minutes before the break. Midway through the second half City debutant Ramiah Mills put his side ahead and celebrated rather acrobatically, only for Danny Nesbitt to level for the visitors ten minutes later. The winner arrived seven minutes from time, Jayden Gipson sending his side up to eleventh. Swifts drop to seventh.
Ipswich Wanderers are still looking for a first win since mid September, but at least they took a point as they hosted promotion chasing Tilbury. Neither side could find the back of the net, a result which left the Dockers in seventh and Wanderers eight points from safety.
Walthamstow won their fourth match in succession, Gorleston their latest victims. Stow went ahead in Great Yarmouth on eighteen minutes, Rasheed Salau with the opener, and Callum Ice doubled their advantage just before the break. Joe Jefford got a goal back for the Greens five minutes into the second half, but a red card for Ryan Curtis saw the hosts reduced to ten men just after the hour, and a further goal was beyond them. Stow are ninth, five points away from a top five spot.
Grays Athletic came from behind to earn a point against Mildenhall Town, and in so doing ended a four match losing streak. Hall went ahead eleven minutes before half time, Sam Adetiba with the goal, but Athletic earned a point just before the hour courtesy of Luke Hirst’s eighth of the season. On seventy one minutes a red card for Alfie Connor left the visitors with ten men, but Athletic couldn’t find a way through.
Maldon & Tiptree extended their unbeaten run to nine matches, and picked up three points against Wroxham. The match had only one goal, Harry Critchley scoring it early in the second half, and it leaves the Jammers in twelfth, their visitors a point away from safety.
Haringey Borough had a half time lead against Basildon United at Coles Park, but in the end needed a goal deep in added time to grab a point. Reece Robins put the Bees ahead on fifteen minutes only for Matthew Young to turn the match on its head with goals on thirty and thirty seven minutes for the hosts. A red card for the Bees Luke Edgar looked to have left them in terrible trouble, but the ten men levelled through George Scales twelve minutes into the second half, and fourteen minutes from time Scales put them ahead. Four minutes into added time Young completed his hat trick and saved a point for Borough, who are one point away from safety. The Bees are fifteenth.
