Isthmian North Supporters Predictions- Final Table

Isthmian North Supporters Predictions- Final Table

You’ve been reading their predictions- now here’s their final verdict!

For the last month you’ve been reading the reviews, previews and predictions of many of our supporters, across all four of our Divisions. You’ve also been seeing their predicted top fives, but what you may not have been aware- if you’re new to the Pitching In Isthmian League, particularly- is that each of our participants picks not only the top five but an entire one to twenty two for their chosen Division. We take those predictions, add them all together, and then, just before the big kick off, produce a predicted league table for each Division- and often it ends up printed out and stuck on a dressing room wall before three o’clock (yes, we’ve seen the photographic evidence!).

Next up, we have the North Division. This is what you think it will look like at the end of the season:

  1. Bury Town
  2. Felixstowe and Walton United
  3. Brentwood Town
  4. Haringey Borough
  5. Concord Rangers
  6. Cambridge City
  7. Brightlingsea Regent
  8. Heybridge Swifts
  9. Waltham Abbey
  10. Walthamstow
  11. Maldon & Tiptree
  12. Grays Athletic
  13. Basildon United
  14. Witham Town
  15. Tilbury
  16. Gorleston
  17. Wroxham
  18. Redbridge
  19. Ipswich Wanderers
  20. Mildenhall Town
  21. Newmarket Town
  22. Sporting Bengal United

If your predictions turn out to be correct, we’ll have a tense, tight, three way battle for the title this season, with Felixstowe & Walton United and Brentwood Town once more cast into the uncertain world of the Play Offs as Bury Town just pip them to the post. Haringey Borough and Concord Rangers will take the last two play off places- but the Beachboys were actually in a three way tie for fifth place, and pipped Cambridge City and Brightlingsea Regent only by having more predicted first places, which we suppose is the prediction equivalent of goal difference!

At the other end, only twenty percent of our participants felt that Sporting Bengal United would stay up- but, United folks, it often happens that teams newly promoted to our level are underestimated, so you can enjoy proving them wrong! Newmarket Town were felt to have more of a chance of survival, but not by much, but in truth your predicted bottom three are somewhat marooned, with Ipswich Wanderers and Redbridge fighting to stay out of the drop zone. In truth, it’s almost as if you have designed two leagues, with everyone down to tenth fighting for promotion and everyone else fighting to stay out of trouble!

We’d like to thank all those who have taken part- a record number this year. We’ll have announcements about your favourite ground and your favourite food on Monday.

Now, time to stop guessing, and to start enjoying some actual football!
