Isthmian South East Supporters Predictions- Final Table

Isthmian South East Supporters Predictions- Final Table

You’ve been reading their predictions- now here’s their final verdict!

For the last month you’ve been reading the reviews, previews and predictions of many of our supporters, across all four of our Divisions. You’ve also been seeing their predicted top fives, but what you may not have been aware- if you’re new to the Pitching In Isthmian League, particularly- is that each of our participants picks not only the top five but an entire one to twenty two for their chosen Division. We take those predictions, add them all together, and then, just before the big kick off, produce a predicted league table for each Division- and often it ends up printed out and stuck on a dressing room wall before three o’clock (yes, we’ve seen the photographic evidence!).

Next up, we have the South East Division. This is what you think it will look like at the end of the season:

  1. Sittingbourne
  2. Herne Bay
  3. Ramsgate
  4. Margate
  5. Ashford United
  6. Sheppey United
  7. Burgess Hill Town
  8. Deal Town
  9. Hythe Town
  10. Lancing
  11. Three Bridges
  12. Sevenoaks Town
  13. Merstham
  14. AFC Croydon Athletic
  15. East Grinstead Town
  16. Littlehampton Town
  17. Broadbridge Heath
  18. Eastbourne Town
  19. Beckenham Town
  20. Erith Town
  21. Phoenix Sports
  22. Steyning Town Community

You expected Sittingbourne to take the title, and by some margin, but perhaps the biggest surprise was the three way battle for second spot betwen Herne Bay, Ramsgate and Margate, who were so close that they were rather difficult to seperate. You predicted Bay and the Rams to take Play Off home advantage, with Ashford United taking fifth place by a tiny margin from Sheppey United, and the rest of the chasing pack a fair distance behind that top six.

At the wrong end of the table you didn’t hold out a great deal of hope for newly arrived Steyning Town, nor for Phoenix Sports. You expected Erith Town to struggle, and you remembered that Beckenham Town only survived last season by being repreived, and you don’t see that happening again. That said, the margin between Becks and Eastbourne Town- and indeed between nineteenth and fifteenth- is so small that any of the bottom eight could be dragged into the scrap for survival.

We’d like to thank all those who have taken part- a record number this year. We’ll have announcements about your favourite ground and your favourite food on Monday.

Now, time to stop guessing, and to start enjoying some actual football!
