Seven, eight, nine
Victories for Villa, Moneys and Vale in our midweek Pitching In Isthmian South Central matches leave them seventh, eighth and ninth
Tuesday was a good day to be a home supporter in Pitching In Isthmian South Central, as each of our home sides emerged victorious.
Hanworth Villa had gone five without a win as they welcomed bottom side Badshot Lea to West London, but they got back to winning ways, taking control of the match in the second half. The Villains went ahead on eighteen minutes, George Wells with the opener, only for the Baggies to level just before half time, Kareem Akinnibi enjoying his return to the club and making it three goals in two matches. It took only two minutes of the second half for Villa to regain the lead, Rayan Djouadj with the goal, and six minutes from time the same player sealed victory by adding the third. Uxbridge, in fourth, travelled to Moneyfields knowing that they might have a tough night in prospect- and indeed it was tough, as two second half goals gave the Moneys yet another victory. That’s six wins in a row, eight wins from ten, and the fifth home match in a row that has ended with three points for the Moneys, who climb to ninth, and close the gap on the top five to only three points.
Scott Hills was the match winner, and he got both of his goals from the spot, but by the time the hosts went ahead they were playing against ten men, Luke Paris dismissed for the visitors on thirty nine minutes. The opener arrived on sixty seven minutes, and seven minutes later referee Nicholas Whittington was pointing at the spot once more. A few more seconds and he was confirming another Hills goal, and that was that. A five match unbeaten run came to an end for the visitors.
Raynes Park Vale eased to victory against Metropolitan Police. Vale made it three wins in a row- and three three-nil wins at that- and closed to within two points of the top five by sweeping aside the boys in blue. George Vincent opened the scoring four minutes before half time, and midway through the second half Kyen Nicholas got his fifth in six matches to make it two. The third goal arrived right at the end, Daniel Moody scoring it from the spot.
Met are seventeenth, two points above the bottom four.
