The Boys in Blue end The All’s winning run

A Southall double for Met Police lifts them out of the bottom four

Southall have been in super form of late, and were looking for a fifth successive victory as Met Police came to call- but the boys in blue, who only had one win from their previous ten, decided that wasn’t going to happen.

When the sides met at Imber Court in September, a Sydney Gbla double saw Met come from behind to take a two-one victory. The scoreline when the sides last played at the 1878 stadium, back in January, was also two-one to the Blues, and last night lightning struck for a third time, a Mason Galloway brace lifting Met to nineteenth, to be replaced in the bottom four by South Park Reigate.

The hardy souls in the crowd waited sixty nine minutes for something to warm them up, but given that we suspect most of them were home fans the opening goal had the opposite effect, Galloway scoring for the fifth time this season. Their chills were multiplying when Galloway repeated the feat two minutes into added time to make it two-nil, his six goals coming in only nine appearances, and a Brendan Matthew goal for The All four minutes later was too little, to late to have much impact on the outcome. That’s a seventh of the season for Matthew.

The All are in thirteenth.

Met have an even tougher task on Saturday as they look to build a winning run, Farnham Town heading to Imber Court. Southall also have tough opposition, as they travel to fourth place Hartley Wintney- although The Row have lost their last two on their own patch, whilst The All have won their last two on the road.
