Uhlsport Golden Gloves Awards- December 2024

Here are the winners of our latest Golden Gloves Awards - sponsored by the some of the best goalkeeping equipment in the world, provided by uhlsport

Remember, these awards are given on the basis of league matches only- and clubs must have played at least three of those to qualify!

Premier Division

Billericay Town spent December proving that they were real title contenders- and they did it on the back of six unbeaten matches that included three clean sheets. Perhaps the most impressive of those clean sheets came in victory over leaders Dover Athletic, but they also picked up victories and prevented both Canvey Island and Wingate and Finchley from scoring, too. Horsham were also victims, although the Hornets did at least manage a goal! Sam Donkin was the man with the golden gloves, and now he gets some golden gloves as a reward! Congratulations to Sam, who is having a fine season- it’s no surprise that the Blues have conceded fewer goals than anyone else in our top flight.

North Division

By the end of December Felixstowe and Walton United had taken over at the top of Pitching In Isthmian North- and whilst we always seem to focus on their seemingly insatiable need for goals, they’ve been superb at the other end, too, with the best defence in the Division. December saw them play six matches, win five, and keep four clean sheets- and you really couldn’t ask for much more, could you? Those clean sheets came in victories over Haringey Borough, Waltham Abbey, Ipswich Wanderers and Newmarket Town, and the man between the sticks on each occasion was Harry Wright, who gets both our plaudits and a fabulous pair of new gloves- not that he seems to need either! Congratulations Harry.

South Central Division

Go west, life is peaceful there- and it’s certainly fairly peaceful if you are on the west London terrace behind the goal defended by Uxbridge keeper George Legg, as very little gets past him! The side from Honeycroft have proved themselves genuine promotion challengers, and December was a fine month which brought with it four victories from four, thirteen goals scored and only two conceded. Horndean and Southall were defeated to nil, title-chasing Kingstonian by two goals to one, and the other victory came whilst George was having a day off, Gary Ross keeping goal in victory at Rayners Lane. Congratulations to Uxbridge, who are having a rather successful month on the awards front!

South East Division

We’re off to Mid Sussex, where we plan to visit a hill. There are many hills to pick from, but on this occasion we’ve chosen Burgess Hill, who had a perfect December on every occasion that the weather didn’t get in the way! The Hillians took on Hythe Town, Three Bridges and Sevenoaks Town, and not one of that trio of opponents was presented with anything but misery, each of them conceding two goals, two of them- Cannons and Oaks- not even managing a consolation goal. Hill keeper Slav Huk was no stranger to these awards during an illustrious career with Dorking Wanderers, and it seems that his move from Surrey to Sussex hasn’t changed him one bit. Congratulations Slav, on another magnificent month.
