Wins for the top three, as Farnham stay four clear

Farnham win in Harrow, K’s defeat The Row, Vale beat lane, whilst Hayes and Uxbridge get four. Ascot, Westfield, Southall, Moneyfields and Guernsey also win

Farnham Town started the day with a four point lead at the top of the Pitching In Isthmian South Central table, and a difficult match in prospect as they headed around the M25 to take on Harrow Borough. Borough were unbeaten at home, had only two defeats from ten, and were rather bent on revenge after losing four-nil to Farnham in September, but they fell behind five minutes before the break, Owen Dean- of course- with the goal, his sixteenth in twenty matches. For all of Borough’s efforts, the equaliser wouldn’t come- and Farnham remain four clear at the top. Image- LJP Photos.

Second place Kingstonian laboured to a win over Moneyfields on Wednesday night, but win they did, and that made it five victories in a row and two clean sheets. They headed to fifth place Hartley Wintney, the Row looking to get back to winning ways after losing three in a… row. They had won five of their previous six at home, but they fell behind in this one, Bradley Wilson putting the K’s ahead on twenty four minutes, and eleven minutes later Wilson got another. The second half saw no addition to the scoreline, and the K’s ensure the gas between themselves and Farnham got no bigger. The Row stay fifth.

Raynes Park Vale, five points behind the K’s in third place at kick off, and with Jordan Gallagher scoring goals by the bucketload, had won four of their previous six and indeed six of their previous eight, with Gallagher on seventeen from seventeen matches. They welcome Rayners Lane, slowly climbing the table after wining their previous two, and saw Gallagher on the scoresheet again, getting their second goal in a two-one win. Archie Harland-Goddard opened the scoring for Vale just before the hour, Gallagher’s goal arrived seven minutes later, and a Frank Keita penalty for Lane a minute from time wasn’t enough for the visitors- but it was his fifteenth of the season.

Hayes and Yeading United were looking for a third win in a row as they welcomed Horndean, the Deans behind them only on goal difference and also searching for a third win in a row. Adrian Clifton has been in fine form for the hosts, and his spot kick midway through the first half to put his side ahead was his twelfth goal in fifteen matches, and he was joined on the scoresheet by Jonathan Hippolyte eight minutes before half time, two-nil at the break. The second half saw two more goals, and they both went the way of the hosts, Kayla Hinds with both- on forty eight and seventy four minutes. United are sixth, a point away from the top five- but with three games in hand.

Hanworth Villa were leaving on a jet plane, the Villains looking to get back to winning ways as they headed to Guernsey. Villa were five unbeaten until losing narrowly to Rayners Lane last weekend, and defeated the Green Lions by the only goal of the game in September; whilst Guernsey hadn’t yet managed a home win, but had a bright first half and went in at the interval ahead, a fourth minute goal from Finlay Patterson the difference. The hosts couldn’t hold on, however, and eleven minutes from time Sam Merson drew the Villains level, but three minutes from time Ross Allen put the hosts ahead once more (his three hundredth club goal), and this time they held onto their lead, despite a very late red card for Matt Loaring.

The boys in blue played the boys in…yella…as Ascot United travelled to take on Met Police. Met had only one win from eight, whilst United had two defeats from seven and were impressive when defeating Hartley Wintney three-nil on Tuesday evening. The Yellas beat the Blues three-nil in September, and they completed the double when Anas Igozouln’s eleventh of the season earning the visitors three more points and seeing them climb to seventh.

Bottom side Badshot Lea hosted Uxbridge. The Baggies started the day nine points from safety and had yet to win a match, with only three draws to show for their season- and they couldn’t really have had a worse start, as George Moore put the visitors ahead after just three minutes. Moore added a second nine minutes before half time, and just after the break it was three-nil, Scott Armsworth surely securing all of the points. On sixty four minutes they added a fourth, Leo Donnellan with that one, and it lifted Uxbridge to eighth. The Baggies are still nine points from safety, and have now lost four-nil twice against these opponents this season.

Westfield were rather struggling for form, with two wins from their previous eight, and they hosted a side who had gone six without a win, Sutton Common Rovers. The Woking side went ahead on nine minutes, Imran Kayani with his first goal for the club in his second game, but Rovers levelled just before half time, Christian Gyamfi with the equaliser. Nine minutes into the second half Mayowa Adaje put the hosts ahead once more, and that was that for goals, Westfield doing the double over their visitors.

Binfield saw a long winning run come to an end in midweek, six victories in a row followed by a manager of the month award and defeat in Uxbridge. The Moles wanted to quickly shake off that loss, whilst their visitors, Southall, were ahead of them only on goal difference and wanted to stay there- and they broke through the Moles rearguard eleven minutes before half time, Anthony O’Connor the scorer. That turned out to be the only goal, Southall up to twelfth and completing a Moles double.

Leatherhead travelled to Ashford Town. The Tangerines were four points from safety after a run of two wins from ten, but they had ended a five match losing streak with a draw against Sutton Common Rovers last time out. The Tanners season had been rather stop-start, but they were five matches unbeaten before defeat to Raynes Park Vale last weekend, and had defeated the Tangerines four-nil only a few weeks ago, so were undoubtedly the favourites- but they fell behind on thirty three minutes, Liam Moore the scorer. It was two-nil fourteen minutes from time, Jayden Porter Atkinson giving the hosts a cushion, but the Tanners weren’t done. Four minutes later Anaur Ceesay got a goal back, and despite a red card for Lukas Franzen Jones they grabbed a point seven minutes into added time, Marco Haigh with the equaliser.

Finally, Moneyfields, in nineteenth, welcomed sixteenth place South Park Reigate to Portsmouth. The Moneys played well in narrow defeat at Kingstonian on Wednesday, but they had gone seven matches without a win, whilst the Sparks had won two of their previous three and were under new management, but had been dreadful on the road, still without a win despite being unbeaten on their own patch. The hosts went ahead on eighteen minutes, Jack Lee the scorer, and a red card for the visitors Conan Torpey made it even more difficult for the Sparks, who conceded a second seven minutes from time. Callum Laycock clinched the victory for the hosts, who are up to sixteenth.
