Chats midfielder new for the Nuts and Bolts

By Ian Townsend

James Dunne is new at Ashford United

Ashford United have increased their Chatham Town connection as James Dunne has followed boss Danny Kedwell and Assistant Dean Beckwith to Homelands.

James joined the Chats in February, making the move from Dover Athletic. He made eighteen appearances, the last of them in Play Off Final defeat earlier this month.

James has many, many years at a level much higher than ours. He played youth football for Wimbledon and Arsenal, and spent time at Nottingham Forest, before making his senior bow with Exeter City, where he played more than a hundred times. He went on to play for Stevenage, Portsmouth, Cambridge United and Swindon Town, and in recent years has turned out in the National League for Barnet and Southend United, and in National League South for Welling United and- most recently- Dover.
