A Bowers Quartet
Rhys Byrne, Joe Waight, Dexter Peter and Tobias Braney are new at Bowers and Pitsea
Bowers and Pitsea have added a new trio, as the Premier campaign fast approaches.
Goalkeeper Rhys Byrne comes in on loan from Leyton Orient for three months. He has been our way before, spending time on loan at Canvey Island at the start of the 22-23 season, and playing six times, winning four. Last season he spent time on loan at Dartford, then in National League South.
He is just beginning the second of a two year contract with the O's, and has played for the first team, in the EFL Trophy.
Forward Joe Waight was rather prolific for New Salamis last season, scoring sixteen goals in twenty three games- including two against his new club at the end of March. He joined the Salamina midway through the campaign after being rather prolific for Wembley in the Combined Counties League, and was previously at Reading City- and with Reading as an Academy player. He has spent the summer with National League South side Aveley.
Centre back Dexter Peter has most recently been with Saffron Walden Town, but he has played for Bowers previously, making forty three appearances when the club were last in our Premier Division during 22-23. He also played for Haringey Borough last season, twenty three times.
Prior to his time with Bowers, the centre back was at Wingate & Finchley, for whom he played thirteen times- with three red cards- in the closing stages of the 21-22 campaign. He previously spent time with Hullbridge Sports, Grays Athletic, Coggeshall Town, Maldon & Tiptree, Thurrock, Merstham, Chelmsford City and Concord Rangers, after coming through the Academy at Millwall.
Forward Tobias Braney was part of the Bowers Under 18 side after departing the Academy at Millwall, and was so impressive that he was snapped up by Luton Town. As a Hatter he had loan spells at Chesham, Bishop's Stortford and Hayes & Yeading United, and he left Kenilworth Road in the summer.
