A Croydon double

Croydon Athletic confirmed two new- and yet familiar- arrivals just prior to Christmas. 

Richard Pingling returns to the Rams after a short time at Phoenix Sports. His ten appearances for Sports brought six goals. 

Forward Richard started the season with the Rams, and  scored twice in eleven appearances this season. Last season he played for Dulwich Hamlet six times, scoring once. 

Richard played youth, Under 18 and Under 23 football with Burnley and AFC Wimbledon, before moving into the non league game with Horley Town, Croydon and Merstham- where he played four times during the 2018-19 campaign. He spent some time with East Grinstead Town during the 21-22 season, scoring twice in six appearances, before moving on to briefly play for Burgess Hill Town. In February 2023 he signed for Haywards Heath Town in Pitching In Isthmian South East, and he played ten times, scoring in the relegation Play Off Final against Redbridge, but wasn't able to help his side retain their Isthmian status. He has also played for Epsom & Ewell and Lordswood.

Will Grieveson, a defender, has also been at Sports, playing five times. He moved to Mayplace from Pitching In Isthmian South Central side South Park Reigate just last month, and made his debut as Sports defeated Lancing. 

Will has already made sixteen appearances for the Sparks this season, after making twelve last season and winning the Surrey Senior Cup. 

He previously played for the Rams, so will also be quite familiar to the home faithful.
