A Hendon summer

A Hendon summer

We catch up with Hendon's summer signings so far

We couldn’t write abut our new clubs prior to our AGM, so over the next couple of weeks we’re going to catch up on their signings and other news. The Greens are up next.

It’s good to have Hendon back after six years away, and the Greens have been rather busy with their squad building over the summer.

Full back Tarik Gidaree played Under 18 and Under 21 football for Premier League AFC Bournemouth. Whilst with the Cherries he had a loan spell at Wimborne, and then spent some of last season at Harrow Borough before a move to Gibraltar, where he played for Lincoln Red Imps.

Midfielder Fabio Sole played youth and Under 21 football for Reading and Oxford United, and whilst with the latter spent time on loan at Rushden & Diamonds and Farnborough. After some time out of the game he joined Slough Town, and has also spent time with Hartley Wintney, Met Police and, most recently, Hanwell Town.

Another midfielder, Ronny Mfinda, was with Harrow Borough last season. He spent most of the previous few years with Chesham United, with some spells at Broadfields United, and was an Isthmian with Northwood for a short time a few years ago. He was also previously with Potters Bar Town, and spent some time at Edgware Town.

Defender Hugo Adogwu-Atkinson was with Kings Langley last season. His most recent period as an Isthmian saw him make eighteen appearances for Sutton Common Rovers during 22-23, and the former Tottenham Hotspur youth player has also played for Mildenhall Town, Romford, Ebbsfleet United, Hertford Town and Harlow Town.

Midfielder Lene Burden played youth football for Arsenal, and then more recently for Bristol Rovers. Whilst with Rovers he had a loan spell at Hartley Wintney, and then when he came to the end of his time with the Gas moved to Hayes and Yeading United. More recently he has played for Histon.

Goalkeeper Sam Jackson comes in from Canvey Island. Sam was a youth player with Millwall, before heading a long way north to sign for Dundee. He went on to play for Aberdeen before returning south and signing for Braintree Town, and then moved on to Welling United. He played for Kingstonian, making ten appearances, before joining the Gulls in December 2022. He made forty eight appearances last season.

Forward Excellence Muhemba was with Harrow Borough last season. He was with Egham Town at the end of the 22-23 campaign- indeed scoring against Merstham in a promotion/relegation Play Off- and spent time with Northwood just before the pandemic shut us down. His previous clubs also include North Greenford United, Hadley, Windsor and Chesham United.

Defender Luke Massingham comes in from Berkhamsted. He was previously with Bracknell Town, Chalfont St Peter, Rushden & Diamonds and Wealdstone, as well as being part of the Academy side at Slough Town.

Finally- we think- winger Demaray Anyadike may be familiar with those who watch the North Division, as he spent time with Hullbridge Sports during the 21-22 season and was more recently at Walthamstow. Demaray was on loan at Sports from Southend United, and had already had a loan spell at Harlow Town. More recently, he spent time at Walthamstow, making nineteen appearances in the first half of last season, before moving on to Royston Town.
