A home for City
Cambridge City finally have a home of their own
After eleven years as nomads, Cambridge City finally have a ground of their own- and it will officially open as they take on promotion-chasing Tilbury on November 30th.
The new ground- to be known as the FWD/IP Community Stadium- has been a long time in planning and construction, as it is more than a decade since City vacated their former ground on Milton Road. The shiny new facility, on the outskirts of Cambridge in Sawston isn't far from the M11 (Duxford exit, by the fabulous air museum), is still undergoing some work but that won't affect your matchday experience.
Oh, and as you are bound to ask, there is lots of parking. If you are travelling by train, you'll also need to get a bus- the number seven- and walk a little way, but all the details are here.
The opening match is expected to be all ticket- please keep an eye on social media for details.
Many congratulations to the club on their fabulous new home- which is a fabulous achievement and the result of rather a lot of blood, sweat and tears.
We'll bring you some photographs from that opening match!
