A Newmarket Town summer
Summer news from the Jockeys
We couldn’t write abut our new clubs prior to our AGM, so over the next couple of weeks we’re going to catch up on their signings and other news. We’re off to visit the Jockeys!
Newmarket Town are about to begin their first ever season at our level, and we’re delighted to have them on board.
Forward Stan Leech was formerly with Cambridge City- indeed he finished last season with a red hot scoring streak. He joined City from Coggeshall Town last summer, made thirty appearances, and scored nine goals, including five in his last three matches with the club. He was only with the Seed Growers for a relatively short period, playing thirteen times as they fought to retain their Isthmian status at the end of the 22-23 season, and previously played youth and junior football for Saffron Walden before stepping up to the first team.
Jose Santa De La Paz might be familiar to you from his time with Bury Town last season. He moved to Ram Meadow last summer, and the forward made nineteen appearances, scoring twice. He spent the second half of the season with Stanway Rovers, scoring five goals from seventeen matches.
Jose was previously with Brantham Athletic, where he scored fourteen goals during the 22-23 season. He came through the Academy at Needham Market, and graduated to the first team squad for the 2019-20 campaign.
James Young, Josh Lee, Jordan Foster, Ally Conway, Jake Eady, Ryan Cole, Oscar Dean, Ben Robinson, Ash Walter, Andy Ballester, Tom Williams, Jacob Mingay, James Chivers, Isaac Maynard, Clinton Frank, Will Gardner and Kacper Brzozowiec remain from last season’s squad.
