A Nuts and Bolts double
Joey Taylor and Jack Saunders are new at Ashford United
Ashford United have announced two new additions to their squad for the forthcoming season, with Joey Taylor arriving from Whitehawk and Jack Saunders making the move from Dorking Wanderers.
Midfielder Jack was formerly an Under 18 at Welling United before making the move to Dorking, and played for the Reserve side before stepping up to the first team squad. He spent last season on loan at Combined Counties Premier Division side Redhill, where he made thirty three appearances.
Joey we know rather well. He made nineteen appearances for Whitehawk last season- with three goals from full back- after heading to the Sussex coast from Chatham Town, where he made ten appearances.
He moved to the Chats after spending time at Cray Wanderers, who he joined from Sevenoaks Town. He made ten appearances for Oaks before the 2020-21 season crashed to a halt, and thirteen in the previous campaign after moving to the club at the end of 2019. Joey previously played for Welling United, Burgess Hill Town, East Grinstead Town, Whyteleafe, Hythe Town, Horsham and Staines Town. He was part of the Hornets squad that won promotion from the South East Division in 2018-19, and prior to the Oaks was at Staines Town.
