A quartet of new Hawks
George Gitau, Dion Curtis-Henry, Connor Hogan and Luke Robinson are new at Whitehawk
Whitehawk's had a number of deadline day arrivals.
George Gitau, a left back, has most recently been with National League side Dagenham and Redbridge.
He came through the ranks at Middlesbrough, where he played Under 18 and Under 21 football, but prior to that he was a youth with Brighton and Hove Albion so this is a return home. He spent loan time with Marske United and Raith Rovers, and after departing Boro in the summer headed south and signed for the Daggers.
Dion Curtis-Henry, a goalkeeper, came through the ranks at Peterborough United before first gracing our league as a loan signing for Soham Town Rangers. He went on to have a loan spell at Boston United before leaving the Posh for Crystal Palace, and whilst at Palace had loan spells at Maidstone United and Hampton & Richmond Borough. When his time as an Eagle came to an end he signed for Billericay Town, then in National League South, following which he went back to the Beavers before a move to Crawley Town.
He spent a little time at Brightlingsea Regent during the 22-23 campaign, playing twice, and then during the 23-24 season played twenty one times for Hornchurch as the Urchins became our League Champions. Last season saw him play for Hanwell Town and make eight appearances for Sittingbourne before a move to Carshalton Athletic, where he played ten times.
He has played ten times for Brantham Athletic this season, and twice for Welling United, and most recently spent time with Tilbury.
Connor Hogan moves down from Heybridge Swifts.
Midfielder Connor has been part of promotion-winning squads at Brightlingsea Regent, Hornchurch and Cheshunt, and then spent time with Brentwood Town from 2019-20, when he made twenty eight appearances and scored five goals. 20-21 saw him play six times before a second campaign in a row fell over, and 21-22 brought forty three appearances, two goals and an unlucky Play Off Final penalty shootout defeat. 22-23 came with twenty nine appearances and two goals, and during the 23-24 season, when the Blues again lost a Play Off Final on penalties, he played twenty seven times, scoring once.
He moved to Heybridge in January last year, making fifteen appearances last season and twenty eight this season.
Luke Robinson is a familiar face at the Hawks.
The winger/forward first joined the Whitehawk just before Christmas 2022, and played twenty times scoring seven goals as his side won South East promotion. He made another five appearances at the start of the 23-24 season, scoring once, before heading off to play in Gibraltar.
The Bermudan international winger initially joined the Hawks from Bognor Regis Town. He was previously with Worthing, playing thirteen times and scoring twice as they won the title in 21-22. He moved to Woodside Road from Haywards Heath Town, where he made thirteen appearances and scored four goals, after starting that campaign at Horsham, playing five times.
Luke spent the 2020-21 season with Staines Town, where he made ten appearances and scored a memorable hat trick in a four-four draw with South Park before the season crashed to a premature end.
He previously spent a short time at Bognor, and has also played for Lewes, Lancing and for Peacehaven & Telscombe.
