A quartet of Yachtsmen
Gabe Overton, Billy Batch, Lucas Poll and Ryan Hawkins are new at Wroxham
Wroxham have brought in four new arrivals- or, if we're to be accurate, three entirely new arrivals and one returning player.
Gabriel Overton, a forward, played youth football for Norwich City and Peterborough United, and indeed reached the first team squad with the latter. He also spent time on loan at Peterborough Sports, before a move to Lowestoft Town in the summer of 2024. He played nineteen times last season, and scored four goals- including one against his new club.
Billy Batch, a full back, has played most of his football in the North West of England, and yet is a Norfolk local by birth and a coach at Norwich City. He came through the youth setup at Fleetwood Town, playing for the Under 18, Under 21 and Under 23 sides, and for Kendal Town, first on loan and then permanently. He also spent time in the USA, with Southern Illinois University, Edwardsville- the ‘Cougars,' and last season played for Thetford Town.
Lucas Poll, a young defender, came through the Norwich City Academy and spent some time with Pitching In Isthmian North side Downham Town in the closing stages of last season, playing nine times- one win, five draws and two defeats.
Ryan Hawkins started last season as a Yachtsman, and indeed scored in the FA Cup draw with Fakenham Town on August 2nd. That followed eighteen goals in thirty two appearances during 24-25, four in thirty eight appearances during 23-24, and ten in thirty eight during 22-23. Prior to his time on the Broads he played for Lowestoft Town, Kings Lynn Town, Dereham Town and Kings Lynn Town, as well as Peterborough Sports and Norwich City, where he was part of the Academy.
He spent time with Dereham Town and Harleston Town last season.
