A Rams quartet

A Rams quartet

Joe Ellul, Lewis Gard, Tushaun Tyreece-Walters and Roarie Deacon are new at Ramsgate

Ramsgate have announced four new signings this week.

Joe Ellul is, of course, extremely familiar to the Rams faithful as he was a big part of their success last season, playing twenty two times and scoring three goals before stepping up to join Welling United.

The defender moved to the Rams last summer from Sittingbourne, for 'an undisclosed fee.' Centre half Joe joined the Brickies from Maidstone United in February 2023, and was a revelation at Woodstock Park, making sixteen appearances- during which he was on the losing side only twice. He was a National League South title winner- and supporters player of the year- at the Stones during the 21-22 campaign, and left his former club due to work commitments which would have interfered with his training requirements. Joe was with the Stones for two and a half years, joining them from Maidenhead United. He spent some time in New Zealand playing for Tasman United, but before heading to Lord of the Rings land played for Braintree Town. He previously spent time with Billericay Town and East Thurrock United

Lewis Gard, a midfielder, came through the ranks at Southend United, graduating from the youth setup to the first team. He had two Isthmian loan spells whilst a Shrimper, playing a dozen times for Aveley during the 2017-18 campaign and ten times for Heybridge Swifts during the 21-22 season. He has been at Tonbridge Angels for the last couple of years, a big part of their National League South side.

Winger Tushaun Tyreece-Walters moved to Hastings United in the summer of last year and played nine times. He also had a spell at Sevenoaks Town, playing twice. Tushaun spent some of the 22-23 season at Herne Bay- and made seventeen appearances scoring two goals- whilst on loan from Maidstone United. It was his second spell with Bay- adding to the nine appearances he made during 2020-21 (two goals) and the thirty seven he made during 2019-20 (nine goals), form which first attracted the attention of the Stones, who signed him in June 2021. He previously played youth football for Spurs and Chelsea, and also played for Abbey Rangers and Greenwich Borough

Winger Roarie Deacon was at Dulwich Hamlet in the closing stages of last season, making nine appearances and scoring once.

Roarie came through the youth ranks at Arsenal and then went on to continue his professional career with Sunderland, Stevenage, Crawley Town and Sutton United, his first season at Gander Green Lane seeing United reach the 5th Round of the FA Cup after defeating the likes of Cheltenham Town, AFC Wimbledon and Leeds United on the way to an eventual narrow defeat against Arsenal. He left Sutton for a season and a half in Scotland with Dundee, before returning to Gander Green Lane and then moving on to Havant and Waterlooville for a first spell. He then spent two seasons with Maidstone United, experiencing first a promotion and then a relegation, and returned to Havant at the start of last season, before that loan move to Champion Hill.
