A Sports double
Ernie Cheeseman and Jeff Duah Kessie are the latest arrivals at Phoenix Sports
Phoenix Sports have strengthened their squad with the signings of Ernie Cheeseman and Jeff Duah Kessie.
Ernie spent time with Erith and Belvedere last season, and also with Chatham Town and Merstham. The centre back, a product of the Millwall Academy, played twice for the Chats and seven times for the Deres, adding in one appearance for the Moatsiders.
Jeff needs little introduction to the Sports faithful.
The striker was in the SCEFL last season, where he turned out for Welling Town, Snodland Town, Whitstable Town and VCD Athletic, after spending the 22-23 campaign with Hythe Town, Beckenham Town and Burgess Hill Town.
He finished the 21-22 season with Sevenoaks Town, making three appearances after arriving just before the transfer door slammed shut. Oaks were his third club during that campaign- he started the season at Sports, and also spent time with their neighbours, VCD Athletic. Jeff got five goals from his fifteen appearances for Sports on that occasion, and had previously been at Mayplace since 2017-18, scoring seventeen, twenty seven, fourteen and two goals during the previous four campaigns, remembering that the last one of those was very short indeed and the one before that wasn't completed either! He joined Sports from SCEFL side Croydon, where he was also prolific- indeed he holds the record for the most goals ever scored for the club in one match, for the five he got against Erith & Belvedere in 2016-17.
