A trio of Hawks
Essa Janneh, Chevron McLean and Luke Robinson are new in the Whitehawk line up
Whitehawk had a trio of debutants as they drew with title-chasing Billericay Town on Saturday- although one of them was rather familiar.
Defender Essa Janneh moves along the coast from Bognor Regis Town, where he has made seven appearances this season.
You might also remember Essa from his time at Kingstonian last season. He made thirteen appearances for the K's in the closing stages after making his debut in February. He was an Eastbourne Borough youth, and also played for Borough last season. Amongst his other clubs are Corinthian-Casuals, Welling United and -on a non contract basis- Wigan Athletic.
Chevron McLean, a full back, has played for Walthamstow in our North Division this season, after ending last season with Cheshunt. where he played fifteen times and scored once. He also spent some time with Potters Bar Town and Dover Athletic during 23-24.
He spent a short time during the 22-23 season at Cray Wanderers, and a slightly longer time at Kingstonian (six appearances), but was an enormous part of Chesunt's promotion to National League South during 21-22- indeed he made forty appearances for the Ambers, including a starring role in that Final victory over Hornchurch.
Prior to the Ambers he played for Billericay Town, Maldon & Tiptree, Molesey, South Park, Staines Town and St Neots Town.
Luke Robinson is a familiar face at the Hawks- indeed he was announced as returning to the club in the summer but instead went to Chatham Town, although didn't play there and quickly moved to Lancing, where he has made ten appearances and scored twice.
The winger/forward first joined the Whitehawk just before Christmas 2022, and played twenty times scoring seven goals as his side won South East promotion. He made another five appearances at the start of last season, scoring once, before heading off to play in Gibraltar.
The Bermudan international winger initially joined the Hawks from Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Bognor Regis Town. He was previously with Worthing, playing thirteen times and scoring twice as they won the title in 21-22. He moved to Woodside Road from Haywards Heath Town, where he made thirteen appearances and scored four goals, after starting that campaign at Horsham, playing five times.
Luke spent the 2020-21 season with Staines Town, where he made ten appearances and scored a memorable hat trick in a four-four draw with South Park before the season crashed to a premature end.
He previously spent a short time at Bognor, and has also played for Lewes and for Peacehaven & Telscombe.
