An Amber battle in the Premier

An Amber battle in the Premier

Our only Pitching In Isthmian Premier match this weekend sees Cheshunt welcome Cray Wanderers. Here’s our preview

Since Cheshunt boss Craig Edwards departed the club his former charges haven’t been able to stop winning, which makes you wonder whether his departure was a little premature! The Ambers have won three in a row, defeating Hastings and Whitehawk on the road before a Velocity Cup penalty shootout win against Potters Bar Town in midweek- and the first two of those saw them climb out of the bottom four and up to seventeenth. The side they host this weekend, Cray Wanderers, currently hold up the rest and are five points from safety, but have shown some sign of recovery by delivering two nil-nil draws in their last two. Without a league win since the opening day of the season, surely it has to start going right for them at some point?

Wanderers narrowly won both meetings between the sides last season- and another victory would lift them off the bottom. A fourth win in a row for the hosts would see them climb to the heady heights of eleventh.
