Basildon Billy

Basildon United have moved quickly to replace Chris Taylor, who departed for Redbridge earlier this week, appointing Billy Cove as their new manager. Billy has most recently been managing the Reserve side at Hashtag United.

Billy, who took over the Tags second side in the summer of 2023, previously managed Epping, Ilford and Cannons Wood, and as a player turned out for Walthamstow, Redbridge, Enfield Town and Maidenhead United. He started his career in defence, but also played rather successfully at the other end of the pitch. 

He runs Free Agents Showcase, a mainly social media based organisation that does what you might think, helping players without clubs to find somewhere to play- more here. 

He takes over a Bees side which currently sits in fifteenth place in Pitching In Isthmian North, and is without a win in eleven matches.
