Becks come from behind to win, whilst 100% Rams retain their record

Beckenham Town remain five clear, Hill end Gate’s unbeaten run, and we’ve wins for Ramsgate, Ashford and Bay

Beckenham Town held onto their five point lead at the top of the Pitching In Isthmian South East table, but they had to come from behind at Broadbridge Heath to do it- and needed the latest of late goals. Steve Townsend put Becks ahead on seventeen minutes, but by half time the tables had turned, Sam Lemon levelling and Louis Evans putting the Bears in front. It was a lead the hosts held until nineteen minutes from time, Oscar Williams with the equaliser, and that seemed to be that- but with Louie Theophanous on the field you always have the chance of a goal, and he made it six from only eight matches by getting a winner two minutes into added time.

Ramsgate were also in Sussex, down the road at Steyning Town, and the Rams made it seven wins from seven- but only just. The match had only one goal, and it went to Tijan Jadama just before the hour, his fourth of the season sealing victory. In added time the hosts went down to ten men, substitute Billy Fuller seeing red.

Margate travelled to take on Burgess Hill Town, the side from the seaside still unbeaten after eight matches- but they aren’t unbeaten after nine, as Hill’s fine season continued. Bobby Price put the hosts ahead on nineteen minutes, but the sides were level at half time, Ibrahim Olutade’s eighth of the season drawing Gate level on thirty five minutes. The winner arrived twelve minutes from time, and it went to substitute Reggie Ward, who had replaced Price in the first half. The Hillians have only one defeat from eight, and are fourth.

Third place Sheppey United hoped to get back on an even keel after Saturday’s hammering at Ramsgate, but they had to settle for a point at Merstham. The match had two goals, and they both arrived early, Gil Carvalho putting the Ites ahead on seven minutes and Lee Lewis levelling for the Moatsiders seven minutes later.

Ashford United picked up their first league victory of the season at East Grinstead Town. Danny Kedwell opened the scoring for the Nuts and Bolts on twelve minutes only for Connor Tighe to level for the Wasps twenty minutes later, but the visitors were ahead at the break, Louis Collins restoring their advantage. A red card for Kieran Humpherston saw the hosts go down to ten men on the hour, and within three minutes Kedwell had added a third, a lead which they held onto comfortably to take the points.

Herne Bay bounced back from their defeat against Sevenoaks Town on Saturday to narrowly ease past Eastbourne Town- a goal in added time leaving the Sussex Seasiders with nothing for their efforts. Town went ahead on the hour, Dan Hull the scorer, but Bay levelled thirteen minutes from time, Joel Odeniran scoring for the second match in a row. Two minutes into added time the winner arrived, Kane Rowland sending the hosts up to thirteenth.
