Beeney for the Nuts and Bolts

Keeper Mitchell Beeney is new at Ashford United

Ashford United have announced the signing of goalkeeper Mitchell Beeney. Mitchell was a big part of Chatham Town's success last season, playing sixteen times as the Chats finished the Pitching In Isthmian Premier campaign in second place. His last match for the Chats was their Play Off Final defeat against Enfield Town in May.

Mitchell started his career with Gillingham, moving to Chelsea's Academy and playing at Under 18 and Under 23 level as well as being part of the first team squad. He spent loan time away from Stamford Bridge at Newport County, Crawley Town and Sligo Rovers, and then signed permanently for Rovers. He was next with those hangers of monkeys (actually it was but one monkey, but please don't go to Hartlepool and mention it, they don't like it), Hartlepool United, before playing for both Lewes (briefly) and Cheshunt.

He spent time with Bowers and Pitsea, where he made forty seven appearances during the 21-22 campaign, an enormous part of their runs to the First Round of the FA Cup and the Final of the Essex County Cup. He moved onto Horsham for the start of the 22-23 season and played seventeen times before stepping up to play for Concord Rangers, then in National League South. He started last season at Dartford, and then spent a little more time with the Hornets, playing four times before his move to Chatham.
