Bognor boss Blake bows out
Robbie Blake leaves Bognor Regis Town
Hot on the heels of Saturday's seven goal home hammering by Chatham Town, Bognor Regis Town announced the departure of manager Robbie Blake.
A club statement on Saturday afternoon read as follows:
'Following the defeat at home to Chatham Town this afternoon in the Isthmian Premier division, it was mutually agreed there should be a parting of the ways.
We would like to place on record our heartfelt thanks to Robbie for his commitment and effort to the cause during his tenure.
However, sitting at the foot of the table after a difficult start to the campaign and following another home defeat, it was felt that Robbie’s departure would allow the club to try to address the shortcomings that see us in such a perilous position.
We will endeavour to keep supporters aware of the processes as we seek to appoint a suitable candidate.'
Robbie took over at the Rocks in March 2022, after previously being first team coach for almost four years, working with then-manager Jack Pearce. He was previously in a coaching role at Portsmouth, but is still best known for his time as a player, when he turned out for Darlington, Bradford City, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Leeds United and had two spells with Burnley. He also had spells with Bolton Wanderers and Doncaster Rovers.
