Three Bridges to groundshare at Chatham Town

We knew that Three Bridges were going to have to find alternative accommodation whilst having their new 3G pitch laid, and yesterday the club announced that they were going to play their home matches at the Bauvill Stadium, home of Premier Division promotion hopefuls Chatham Town.

In a statement released on social media, Bridges explained:

'Whilst the grass pitch at Jubilee Field is being converted to a 3G all-weather playing surface between August and November/December, our home games will be played at The Bauvill Stadium, home of Chatham Town.

The Bauvill Stadium is widely renowned as one of the best grounds in the Isthmian League and has had a 3G surface in place since 2019. Using this facility will benefit our playing squad greatly as we prepare to play on a 3G surface of our own from Winter 2024 onwards.

A huge thanks goes to Chatham Town- and their chairman Kevin Hake- for their assistance and agreeing to the ground share for the first part of the 24/25 season. As already announced, our women's team will be using The New Defence in Horley as their home venue for the same temporary period.'

Bridges first competitive match at The Bauvill is scheduled to be on our opening day, August 10th, when they welcome Sheppey United in what will now be a local derby for the Ites, who will travel about half the distance demanded of their hosts.
