Bury go top- by the skin of their teeth!

Bury Town come from behind to snatch a draw at Newmarket- and hit the summit

Bury Town were quickly back in action following Sunday’s win at Cambridge City, travelling to Newmarket Town for the only Tuesday Pitching In Isthmian North fixture. The Blues knew that victory would send them two points clear at the top- but on sixty two minutes they fell behind, Ryan Cole putting the Jockeys ahead with his sixth goal of the season. The hosts had won only one of their previous eight league fixtures, and only once at home, and they were unable to hold on to change that statistic as the Blues hit back seven minutes from time.

Cemal Ramadan was once again the Bury hero/saviour, stepping up to score his tenth goal of the season- this one coming from the spot, and it was a goal that sent them to the summit ahead of previous leaders Tilbury- but only on goal difference. The Dockers drop to second, both sides only a point ahead of third place Witham Town- the two sides scheduled to meet at the Simarco Stadium on Saturday, whilst Bury host fifth place Basildon United. Felixstowe and Walton United, in fourth, are five points off the top with two games in hand.
