Chinedu McKenzie makes a Hayes & Yeading United debut

Striker Chinedu McKenzie made a debut for Hayes & Yeading United in their draw at Margate on Saturday- less than two months after being announced as a pre-season arrival at South Park Reigate. He doesn't seem to have made a competitive appearance for the Sparks.

Chinedu also spent time in Pitching In Isthmian South Central with Raynes Park Vale last season, and was an instant hit on his debut, scoring Vale's second goal in a three-two win over Chertsey Town- that, incidentally, was the Curfews only defeat of the season! He played eight times for Vale and scored twice.

Chinedu started last season at the top end of Pitching In Isthmian Premier, with Chatham Town. He played twice for the Chats, his first appearance coming in opening day victory over Bognor Regis Town, his last from the bench in a thrashing by Ramsgate on September 2nd. The striker ended the 22-23 season at Carshalton Athletic, where he made twelve appearances, scoring once. He joined the Robins from Hastings United, moving to Pilot Field in October 2022 and making ten appearances, delivering four goals. Chinedu played for Bowers & Pitsea during the 2020-21 campaign- what there was of it- and started the 2021-22 campaign at Herne Bay, making five appearances. He was at Folkestone Invicta and Leatherhead during 2019-20, after leaving Tonbridge Angels. His departure from Longmead was confirmed in early November 2019, after he'd been at the club for ten months and was an important part of the squad that earned Playoff and Super Playoff success, scoring twelve goals along the way. He made ten appearances for Angels in National League South at the start of 2019-20 before heading to Fetcham Grove.

Prior to his move to Longmead he was part of the Haringey Borough side that earned promotion to the Premier Division via the North Division playoffs, and went on to make twenty two appearances in yellow during their first Premier campaign before heading off to be an Angel. He has also turned out for Burgess Hill Town, Greenwich Borough and Romford, amongst others.
