Christie, Carr and Gillies new for the Ites
Sinn’Kaye Christie, Dann Carr and Liam Gillies sign on at Sheppey United
Sheppey United have announced the triple signing of Sinn’Kaye Christie, Liam Gillies and Dan Carr.
Defender Sinn’Kaye was a big part of Ramsgate's success in the early part of last season, part of the side which reached the Second Round of the FA Cup. He made fifteen Rams appearances before stepping up to join Dover Athletic in National League South.
He made the move to Ramsgate from the Sussex coast in August last year, after earlier being announced as a signing for Whitehawk but not making an appearance.
Sinn’kaye started the 22-23 season in the upper reaches of Pitching In Isthmian Premier with Cray Wanderers, making twenty two appearances. He then moved down to the Kent coast, signing for Margate, and played another sixteen times.
The player spent the 21-22 campaign with Haywards Heath Town, where he was a big part of their play off charge, making forty two appearances up to and including their Play Off Semi-Final shootout defeat.
He joined Heath from Tooting and Mitcham United, and previously had two spells at the Hawks and two spells with Merstham. He also spent time with Hastings United, and was formerly an Under 21 player at Leatherhead.
Dan Carr, a forward, was with Sevenoaks Town last season and managed fifteen goals from his twenty five matches. That followed one goal in six matches at the end of the 22-23 campaign.
He came through the youth setup at Reading, and then spent time with Eastbourne Borough before becoming a big success with Dulwich Hamlet, his goalscoring grabbing the attention of the professional game. He signed for Huddersfield Town, and played loan football with Fleetwood Town, Mansfield Town and Dagenham and Redbridge before heading off to Cambridge United. He was back- briefly- at Hamlet during 2016-17 before starting a European tour, where he played in Ireland, Cyprus and Finland before a move to India. Closer to home, he joined Welling United, headed back to the Emerald Isle to play for Shelbourne, and then the Oaks came calling. He is a full international for Trinidad and Tobago.
Midfielder Liam Gillies returns to the club. Liam was a big part of the Ites promotion to our level and played some of their first Isthmian season before moving on to Whitstable Town, where, according to the SCEFL website, he made thirty three appearances with two goals last season. He had an early spell with the Oysterboys a few years ago, and also played for Sevenoaks Town and Dartford, after being a Gillingham youth.
