Crowhurst of Canvey...again
Jaden Crowhurst makes another Canvey Island debut
Pitching In Isthmian Premier side Canvey Island have strengthened their defence with the arrival of former Southend United player Jaden Crowhurst- and gave him another debut, from the bench, in their narrow defeat at leaders Dover Athletic on Saturday.
Jaden was part of the Shrimpers first team squad on occasions during the 22-23 season, but with the club in turmoil and under an embargo at the time they were unable to offer him a new deal, and last summer he chose the Gulls to continue his career. He made thirty six appearances for the club last season, making the number two shirt his own, and returns after a spell at Walton & Hersham.
Last season wasn't his first time in our ranks, as in the latter part of the 21-22 campaign he spent time on loan at Canvey's then North Division rivals Great Wakering Rovers, making fifteen appearances and scoring in a five-nil win over Romford. Canvey fans with good memories may also recall him playing against their side in a one-one draw on April 16th 2022. As well as his time with Rovers, Jaden also had loan spells higher up the pyramid, spending time with National League South side Tonbridge Angels in the early part of the 22-23 season and, in the same Division, with Hampton & Richmond Borough in February 2023.
