Eddie Diplock R.I.P.
We mourn the passing of 'Mr Sevenoaks Town'
Sevenoaks Town have announced the sad passing of Eddie Diplock.
Eddie was very much deserving of the sobriquet ‘Mr Sevenoaks Town.’ If you've visited the Bourne Stadium you'll have undoubtedly noticed the stand named after him, an honour bestowed in 2016 to celebrate Eddie's SIXTY years as Club Secretary. The service which Eddie provided to the Oaks, and indeed to Kentish football, was almost unparalleled at all levels of the game.
More than any of that, however, Eddie was a kind, warm hearted, knowledgeable and dedicated man, whose efforts have contributed greatly to the success of the club he so loved. He will be greatly missed.
The condolences of everyone at the Isthmian League go out to Eddie's family and friends, and to all at the club.
A club statement added:
‘We will be paying our own tribute to him before the home match against Erith Town on Saturday, and invite the Sevenoaks football community and friends to join us and celebrate his life.’
Rest in Peace Eddie. And thank you.
