Farnham back to winning ways
Farnham Town go six clear- whilst in the Cup, Harrow win in Hayes, whilst the holders narrowly defeat the Yellas
Leaders Farnham Town were having- by their standards- a mini crisis, only one point to show for their efforts in their previous two matches, but they got back to wining ways in Cobham against Ashford Town, and extended their lead at the top of the table to six points. Farnham went ahead on thirty four minutes, Ryan Kinnane with the opener, and the Tangerines hopes departed when they had Callum Hope dismissed just before the hour mark. Twelve minutes from time Great Evans sealed victory for the visitors, two-nil the final score. Ashford remain third from bottom, and have now lost five in a row.
The Velocity Cup Third Round saw holders Chatham Town off to Pitching In Isthmian South Central side Ascot United (pictured, Shooting Stars Photography), and whilst they didn’t have it all their own way they did just enough to make it through to round four. The match had only one goal, and it arrived in the twenty third minute, Kareem Isiaka scoring for the first time since his return to the club. The Yellas fought hard, and saw a penalty saved by Joe Wright in the first half and hit the woodwork twice in the second, but the Chats held on.
An all-South Central fixture saw Hayes and Yeading United welcome Harrow Borough, two sides who meet again in the league on Boxing Day. On this occasion Borough took the prize, second half goals from Kai Hamilton and substitute Jethro Odumosu- who had been on the field only eight minutes after replacing Hamilton- seeing them comfortably through.
