Freeman at Bay
Keeper Sam Freeman makes a Herne Bay debut
Herne Bay had a debutant keeper as they lost to Sheppey United on Saturday, as Sam Freeman took the number one jersey.
Sam started this season with Pitching In Isthmian South East leaders Beckenham Town, making ten appearances and picking up our uhlsport Golden Gloves award for August.
Sam moved to Becks from Cray Valley PM, and made it two promotions in two years after he previously played for Whitehawk as they won the Pitching In Isthmian South East Play Offs at the end of 22-23. He made nineteen appearances for the Millers as they took the title last season, and- of course- had that magnificent run in the FA Cup, after playing eleven times for the Hawks during the previous campaign.
Prior to the Whitehawk, Sam turned out for Horsham YMCA, Egham Town, South Park, Three Bridges, Chalfont St Peter, Haywards Heath Town, Hartley Wintney and East Grinstead Town.
