Friday Night Football!

Friday Night Football!

All roads lead to Hanworth and Grays (Tilbury)

We’ve matches in League and Cup this evening as our weekend gets an early start.

In the FA Cup Hanworth Villa welcome Walton & Hersham in a Replay of our 22-23 South Central Play Off Final. The Villains have been in fine form so far, scoring thirteen goals in five matches across League and Cup, and will have revenge on their minds. They won’t find that easy, however, as the Swans are in second place in Pitching In Southern Premier South, and after losing narrowly on opening day have gone on to win four in a row, scoring fifteen goals in the process, their last match a five goal thriller against Chertsey Town on Monday in which they triumphed three-two. The sides met- of course- three times during 22-23, both matches in the regular season ending with away wins before the Swans came from behind to win that Final.

Pitching In Isthmian North has an Essex derby, as Grays Athletic welcome Redbridge to Tilbury- twelfth v seventeenth. Both sides have one victory from their opening three league matches, and both have- obviously, or they’d be playing tomorrow- departed the Cup. Athletic’s success story so far has been the form of Elliott Sartorius, who has scored in each of their four matches in all competitions so far, whilst the Motormen will hope that Monday’s three-two win over Newmarket Town will kickstart their season. Last season Athletic defeated Redbridge two-nil in their home fixture, but the Motormen got revenge at Oakside in April, winning four-one.

Both matches kick off at 7.45 PM.
