Goalkeeper Grainger new for the Blues

Wingate and Finchley have announced the signing of goalkeeper Charlie Grainger. 

Charlie played youth football for Norwich City and Leyton Orient, eventually progressing to the first team squad at Brisbane Road. after a spell in the Under 18's. He made his first team debut for Orient in September 2015. 

Whilst with Orient he had a number of loan spells. He made, for example, ten appearances for Cray Wanderers during the 2013-14 campaign, and went on to spend time with Histon, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Farnborough. He moved to Hamlet in the summer of 2019, and remained at Champion Hill until the summer of 2023, winning the Player of the Year award in 21-22. In his younger days (not that he's now old!), he played Under 18 international football for England.

Last season saw him at Hastings United, and he made a rather incredible fifty three appearances.
