Harvey heads to the Seasiders
Rob Harvey swaps blue for red, signing on at Felixstowe and Walton United
What do you do when you've already scored sixty goals and still feel like you need to strengthen your squad? Yes, that's right- you bring in another forward!
That's what Felixstowe and Walton United did last night, as they announced the signing of winger Rob Harvey from Brentwood Town. Rob has already made a dozen appearances for the Blues this season after rejoining the club in the summer.
Rob moved to the Arena from Heybridge Swifts, but, of course, had played for the Blues before- indeed he put in a man of the match performance as Brentwood Town took Canvey Island to penalties in the Pitching In Isthmian North Play Off Final at the end of the 21-22 campaign.
Rob spent two seasons with the Blues, making ten appearances during 2020-21 and following that with forty nine- and fourteen goals- as his side fell just short. He moved to Swifts in the summer of 22, made twenty two appearances- with four goals- last season, following forty six as new side also fell just short in another Play Off Final at the end of 22-23.
Rob is known as a winger, but he's equally adept as a wing back. He was part of the Brightlingsea Regent squad that earned promotion from the North Division in 2016-17, going on to play for the club in the Premier Division before earning a contract with Millwall. He was a Lion for a year before moving on to Braintree Town, and has also spent a little time at AFC Sudbury.
