Hicks and Kyei back with the Scholars

David Hicks and Nana Kyei are back with Potters Bar Town

Prior to Saturday's fixtures Potters Bar Town announced the return of a familiar face, David Hicks returning to the club on loan from Stevenage until January.

David signed his first professional contract with Stevenage at the start of this year. The midfielder's first loan spell last season saw him play six times, score twice and pick up the Player of the Month Award, and he added three more appearances in his second spell before injury ended it early.

At Stevenage, who don't have an Under 21 side, he has played Under 18 football, and been part of the first team squad in the Carabou Cup and EFL Trophy, debuting in the latter.

Another familiar face, albeit from longer ago, also signed on.

Winger Nana Kyei made a big impact on Scholars fans at the end of the 18-19 season, when he arrived on loan from Barnet and made six appearances, scoring three times- against Folkestone Invicta, Harlow Town and Tonbridge Angels. Nana left the Bees at the end of that campaign, signing for Maidstone United, and then moved to Chelmsford City, before returning to the Scholars just before the pandemic kicked in. He made thirteen appearances with three goals in what we had of the 20-21 season (very little, as it turned out), before moving on to Hungerford Town. He spent the 22-23 season with Concord Rangers in National League South, and remained at that level last season, playing for Aveley.
