Ascot United, in third place at kick off, hosted a Christmas party as well as Guernsey, letting everyone in for free. Santa Claus was also in attendance, and he may have inspired the Yellas to give away presents, as the Green Lions charged into a three-nil half time lead, Matt Loaring, Ross Allen and Loaring again doing the damage. If the match looked won, it certainly wasn’t, and perhaps Krampus (kind of an anti-Santa) wielded some punishment in the home changing room at the break, as they somehow earned a point with three goals of their own in the second half. Substitute Ben Harris got the first of those, with only fifteen minutes to go, and then two minutes later he got another- but it looked like the visitors had held on. They hadn’t. Five minutes into added time Khalid Simmo popped up with his third goal in three matches to earn his side a point.
