Another win for the Blues lifts them into the top five
Brentwood Town put up a spirited performance before falling to defeat against National League Southend United on Saturday, and with two points between themselves and fifth place were entirely focused on their promotion hopes as they got back to league action at Cambridge City. The Blues, who had won three of their last four previous matches, took on a City side hoping to avoid a third successive defeat in their new stadium- but the Blues broke the deadlock five minutes into the second half, Mekhi McKenzie scoring the opening goal. It turned out that the opening goal was the only goal, and it completed a Bees double, as well as sending them into the play off places.
