An equaliser TEN minutes into added time earns the Baggies a point
Sunday saw Guernsey welcome Badshot Lea for a Pitching In Isthmian South Central bottom two battle. The match, watched by five hundred and ninety nine people, looked to be ebbing towards a goalless draw when it came to life in the closing stages. On seventy four minutes, Charlton Gauvain roused the Green Lions with the opening goal, and although returning Baggie Kareem Akinnibi quickly responded, Gauvain then converted a spot kick to give his side the lead once more, nine minutes from time. Into added time we went, indeed deeper and deeper into added time, and we’d played ten extra minutes when Akinnibi struck once more, two-two the final score. The result lifted Guernsey to twentieth, three points from safety, whilst Badshot Lea remain at the bottom, the gap between themselves and salvation twelve points.
