Villa win an eight goal thriller

Hanworth Villa and Harrow Borough met in West London, both sides hoping to bounce back after defeat at the weekend. The Villains defeat in Guernsey was a second defeat in a row following a fine run of victories, but they put that behind them in an eight goal thriller, coming from two goals down to do so.

Borough went ahead after just six minutes, Jethro Odumosu the scorer, and on twenty four minutes Deago Dunbar-Bonnie put them two up. Finally the Villains awoke, Rayan Djouadj quickly getting a goal back, and five minutes before half time the same player drew them level. Within a minute level had changed to ahead, as Bruno Robertson-Tingle put the hosts ahead.

Twenty minutes from time a one goal advantage turned to two, Sam Merson’s seventh of the season giving the Villains a little breathing space, but they were soon given reason to worry once more as Dunbar-Bonnie quickly pulled it back to four-three. Into added time, and Borough went down to ten men, James Gurteen dismissed- and with eight added minutes played the hosts finally made sure of the points, Alex Body making it five-three. Villa are up to seventh, two points behind their fourth place visitors.
