Athletic take control after the break for three more points
Horsham v Dover Athletic looked like a clash of the titans, and it was the Kentish strongmen who took the points in West Sussex. The Hornets went ahead on twenty two minutes, Isaac Philpot giving them the lead, and it looked like they’d take that advantage into the break only for George Nikaj to continue his record of scoring in every match so far, this one his eighth of the season- in only five matches. The second half saw Athletic go ahead with twenty one minutes remaining, Luke Baptiste with their second, and eleven minutes later they made sure of three points with a third goal, Ruben Soares-Junior taking his tally for the season to five, and his tally for the weekend to four. Dover are fourth, Horsham slip to seventh. One thousand, two hundred and forty three were…proportionately disappointed.
